like most of my peers
today marks the end of another chapter of our life
we have always called ourselves students
but from tomorrow onwards we are not
for the past twenty odd years
life as a student is like building our own ship
we see the ocean as what we perceive it to be
and we construct our ship hoping to sail through it
some expect a rough storm in the open waters
while others think the sea will be nice and calm
a small minority think that the sky is the real limit
and a few do not bother with what actually lie ahead
therefore some work hard to build strong boats
others are just happy with a float
a few ships can even fly
and some just do not mind sinking
i now dock my ship at the wharf
i created it to be a sturdy and stable vessel
nothing too exciting about its capabilities
for i built it to sail through a rough sea that i see
when i use it to embark on my next journey
i expect it to be steady and dependentable
as i promise to make every effort to upgrade my craft
may i fulfill my ultimate dream to sail it as a luxurious cruise
