i tried to ponder
where have i been
and now i wonder
where should i go
as i looked back
like i always do
i felt battled and weathered
like i always go through
now is the right time
to put the past behind
as i muster all that i have
for the final last lap
it may not be much
as i tally what i am left with
it adds on to my confusion
if i am really left with this much
i have looked down long enough
to miss what i should have noticed
as i try to hold my head up
i wonder how much is left to see
i have to start getting it right
even if it means little
for i do not wish to live with regrets
even if they are forgettable
