*RED = Real Estate Development
Property Managers
The goalkeeper of the team who tries to block the complaints of the tenants and save the building from deterioration. His blunders will always be publicized badly but his hard work and contributions will never be remembered. When the RED team made mistakes and let in goals (e.g built a terrible building), the property managers tend be the one to get the blame first.
Builders and Engineers
The players who work hard to keep the RED team and the building from collapsing. Like most defenders, they have to be reliable in forming a stable backline, so as to turn blueprint into steady concrete reality.
Law Consultants and Accountants
These two professionals complete the defence as the fullbacks. Their contribution to the game may not be as obvious but they are the unsung heroes who keep the team from getting into legal and financial troubles.
Valuers and Quantity Surveyors
They provide vital support to the RED team and assist along the sidelines. If they are good, they will play the game with flair and provide the team with accurate crosses..or rather estimations of the construction costs and the OMV of land and buildings.
Project Manager
He is the captain of the team and must be well rounded in all aspects of the project. In football terms, he must be able to attack as well as defend. Like Roy Keane, he will yell and shout at anyone who makes mistakes and his tolerance towards excuses is extremely low.
Architect
Who can deny that this man is of David Beckham's superstar status? He is the star player who the RED Devils and takes position in the central playmaker role. He is an untouchable figure throughout the whole development process. When he is on fire, the team wins. When he dips in form, the team suffers.
Marketing Managers and Agents
They are the two important players who complete the line-up. When the strikers don't score, the team doesn't win. Therefore, no matter how well the entire project was developed and how good the building is, the RED team needs them to bring in the tenants and the rental incomes. As a result, they must be proactive and sharp in their marketing strategies.
The Developer
Needless to say, he is also known as Alex Ferguson.
The Referees
There are also the relevant authorities (BCA, URA etc) as the referees to regulate the rules of the RED games. They have absolute power to send off or suspend any players who play foul in the development process and occasional chanting of "Referee Kayu" can still be heard.
The Fans
Lastly, we have the pool of fans made up of many different personalities with a million and one opinions about the RED team. For example, the journalists, the taxi-drivers and us students who have the most to say ;b
