it's so depressing that almost everyone has their own unsolvable problems. unsettled troubles always remain a headache, sometimes even resulting in heartache, however not everyone deals with them in the same way and unfortunately, not everyone can chose to get away with them.
as i walked down a busy street with hundreds of strangers zipping past me, i really wondered how many of them were hiding their troubles behind and putting up a brave front, trying hard to hold their heads high and forcing a false smile in front of whoever was next to them. when the night fell and it's time to head home, how many of them were dropping their heads, forlornly dragging their feet along and wallowing in self pity for the distressing difficulties they faced.
"never feel sorry for yourself", i heard from one tough man when i was serving my national service. i didn't quite understand the meanings behind as i never knew how it felt, then and before. now, with waves of troubles coming at me and knowing that there are surely more to come, i couldn't help but to feel dejected at times and stumbled into self pity
some disheartening problems just could not be helped, could not be avoided and worse, could not be solved. it just boiled down to how different individuals dealt with them. for me, i just want to keep that tough man's words conscientiously in mind, anytime and everytime, for these are useful words of encouragement everytime i sadly dropped my head down and stared blankly into space...
