she lent a hand to lay the new sheet
once he was done with laundry
she volunteered to hang the fresh linen
all these chores she seldom done
but for him, she found them fun
next, he went to scrub the floor
again, she wanted to help
she was not forced, she was willing
he was surprised, he was pleased
he passed her the mop
only to see her paint the floor with water
he had a great laugh, and took the mop back from her
